Meet Brynn
Joyful. Competitive. Adventure seeker. Animal whisperer. Prankster. Lover of life.
Brynn was seven years old when she was diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma, with a cancerous tumor in her chest wall.
Our world was turned upside down that December 2018. What we thought was a simple hospital visit for shortness of breath quickly became our worst nightmare.
Brynn faced an initial nine months of grueling treatment. We hoped the hardest part was behind us—but after a brief six-month reprieve, she relapsed in February 2020.
Over five years, Brynn endured multiple recurrences, many different treatments, two chest wall surgeries, brain surgery after additional cancer spread, and countless hospital stays and appointments.
But cancer was never the only story.
She kept finding something good…
She danced in hospital rooms.
She rode horses.
She jumped on hospital beds.
She raised baby bunnies and saved for a puppy.
She pranked her doctors and nurses.
She went to school whenever she could.
ALWAYS LIVING
•
ALWAYS LIVING •
"Always Living" truly embodied how Brynn approached life during her five-year battle with Ewing sarcoma.
She was determined to live as fully as possible—finding joy, laughter, adventure, and connection wherever she could, and surrounding herself with the friends, family and animals she loved.
"Every day there are hard things, but every day there is still good."
That belief wasn't just something Brynn said. It was how she lived.
Brynn showed us a different way to walk through the unimaginable. She taught us that while we couldn't choose the mountain before us, we could choose how we climbed it.
Through the support of others and intentional moments of joy, we were reminded…
Hope can coexist with heartbreak.
Life is still meant to be lived.
Her story became our promise.
That belief in Always Living didn't end when Brynn went to heaven on April 7, 2024.
It became a promise.
A promise to keep going, keep living, and keep giving. A promise to walk alongside families navigating childhood cancer with the same practical, relational, and life-giving support that helped our family continue living through the hard.
This is Brynn's legacy. This is Always Living.
